Steve Descano Endorsed by Four Commonwealth’s Attorneys!

Fairfax Station -- Steve Descano, the Democratic nominee for Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney, and his vision for safety and justice have been endorsed by four Commonwealth’s Attorneys. 

The endorsements include Democrat Commonwealth’s Attorneys Shannon Taylor (Henrico County), Greg Underwood (Norfolk), Stephanie Morales (Portsmouth) and former Commonwealth’s Attorney from Richmond, Democrat Mike Herring.

"I am proud to endorse Steven Descano for Fairfax Commonwealth’s Attorney. Steven is an experienced prosecutor who will do justice for the community and will lead the way on long overdue criminal justice reforms in Fairfax County,” Underwood said. “He is the right person for this important job." 

Taylor also commented, “As Commonwealth's Attorney for Henrico County since 2011, I have prioritized safety and rehabilitation to keep the community moving forward. I am excited to endorse Steve Descano for Fairfax County's Commonwealth's Attorney because I know he will prioritize the same Democratic values we all share, making Fairfax a safe and just place for everyone and I am looking forward to working with him.”

These four endorsements add to a still-growing list of 35 endorsements Steve has earned since the primary election. 

“It is very gratifying to know that I have the support of the most relevant and prevalent members of Virginia's criminal justice system. These Commonwealth’s Attorneys know from their experiences that the best way to achieve true and long-lasting public safety is through a just criminal justice system. They share our values and vision to bring Fairfax County and Virginia forward, not backward,” Steve said of the occasion.

Steve’s plan to lead Fairfax County’s criminal justice system through the values of the community has the firm and steadfast support of Democrats and grassroots organizations, throughout Fairfax and Virginia. Steve’s election will bring Fairfax out of the discriminatory vestiges of the tough-on-crime era and instead create a criminal justice system that builds up our communities.

Steve Descano is the Democratic nominee for Fairfax County’s Commonwealth’s Attorney; his plan for criminal justice reform is Progressive Justice. Steve is an Army veteran and former prosecutor for the U.S. Department of Justice under the Obama Administration.
