Fairfax Republicans Endorse “Independent” Jonathan Fahey
FAIRFAX STATION -- Last night, the Fairfax County Republican Committee voted to endorse not-so-Independent Jonathan Fahey in the Commonwealth’s Attorney race.
This comes two days after Fahey’s fundraising numbers revealed that a vast majority of his contributions came from well-known GOP sources. Fahey has been a pawn for the Trump White House’s attack on criminal justice reform since he entered the race in August. This is now confirmation of that fact.
“My opponent is ashamed of his radical Republican views and knows they get him nowhere in this community, that’s why he’s been lying about being an independent candidate from day one. The truth is that Trump-conservative is just not the value-set shared by a majority of voters here in Fairfax County. They want our criminal justice system to reflect our shared values; and they deserve a Commonwealth’s Attorney who will be honest with them about their beliefs and the policies those beliefs will lead to. That’s why I’m proud to be the Democratic nominee and that together we’ve built a campaign based on long-lasting safety and justice for all,” remarked Steve.
Steve’s grassroots campaign is built of a network of volunteers and grassroots supporters from across the County. His message of seeking safety through justice has garnered him the endorsement of the entire northern Virginia Congressional delegation as well as numerous organizations, elected officials, and the voters.
Steve Descano is the Democratic nominee for Fairfax County’s Commonwealth’s Attorney; his plan for criminal justice reform is Progressive Justice. Steve is an Army veteran and former prosecutor for the U.S. Department of Justice under the Obama Administration.
